Interior Design Positions – Multiple Roles

We are a studio of architects and designers unafraid to PIVOT in an ever-changing world. WE TURN DREAMS INTO REALITY. *PIVOT* studio is a multi-disciplinary team located in Cincinnati, OH. We are a collective of Architects, Interior Designers, and Graphic Designers and are looking for Interior Designers to bring their design and leadership experience to our studio. At *PIVOT* studio, disciplines are not segregated but intermingled and are often working on projects together. Many clients seek us out because of our highly integrated approach to design and documentation. Our projects are primarily in the hospitality industry, but we also have projects in restaurant and entertainment venues, retail, brand focused workplace (graphics), as well as some fun local “one-off” designs. We are looking for Interior Designers at multiple levels, see below for preferred experience and skillsets. *INTERIOR DESIGNER – ENTRY LEVEL* *Preferred Experience* Tactically, we are looking for an entry level to early-career Interior Designer who can support design teams across a variety of project types. This role is ideal for a motivated, design curious professional who is eager to learn, grow their technical skills, and contribute meaningfully to collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams. Under the guidance of the senior design staff the Interior Design candidate will assist with design development, documentation and presentation efforts while gaining exposure to all phases of the design process. They will work closely with outside vendors to gain a better understanding of materiality and the importance of professional networking. This role emphasizes hands-on learning and professional development within a collaborative studio environment. - Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at an accredited University - 1-3 years of professional experience working in the field of Interior Design *Preferred Knowledge + Skillset* - Proficiency using design software: AutoCAD / Revit / SketchUp - Proficiency using Adobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign - Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp with Enscape plug-in is a plus. - Basic understanding of concept design, space planning, FF&E sourcing, material selection and construction documentation and detailing. - Strong design sensibility and visual communication skills. - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrate a professional work ethic. - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. - Enthusiasm for learning, value mentorship, and professional growth. *INTERIOR DESIGNER – SENIOR DESIGNER* *Preferred Experience* Tactically, we are looking for an Interior Designer that has solid experience managing all phases of a project, from the concept phase to documentation, and being able to simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity. In addition, we would like someone who is comfortable communicating with and managing client relationships. This applicant must have experience working with all the disciplines within PIVOT, including Architecture and Graphic Design. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who has an overall understanding of design strategy and can help inform brand creation and maintenance without diminishing the client’s overall vision. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and proven leadership in managing teams, clients, and consultants Intangibly, we are looking for someone who is like-minded with the rest of our leadership team, so that they easily integrate with the rest of our well-established team. Ideally, this person would have a passion for mentorship and teaching team members not only about how to design an amazing space, but also how to integrate that design and make it work for our clients. We are looking for someone who can guide team members through creative strategy, detailed documentation and help build skills that they can then pass onto others. This applicant should be comfortable fostering a culture of ownership, empowering teams to take accountability for project staffing, delivery, and client relationships - Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at an accredited University - 5-20 years of professional experience working in the field of Interior Design *Preferred Knowledge + Skillset* - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. - Comfortable with a broad range of projects in design types - Comfortable working on parallel assignments and working on multiple projects at a time - Comfortable working in teams and making group presentations - Promote design knowledge within the interior design group - Interface with all professional disciplines assigned to the project to coordinate - the Interior Design work - Understanding of design expectations and the level of quality service to clients - Working with the Director and/or Project Team to establish design parameters - consistent with the project scope - Demonstrates collaborative and professional work ethic - Self-directed and motivated - Has strong conceptual and technical capabilities with attention to detail - Possess strong verbal, written and visual communication skills and presentation - abilities Deep experience and involvement in all phases of design and construction - (SD, DD, CD, CA and Construction) - Maintain a general knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection and telecom building systems; coordinate these systems with the interior design - Proficient in preparing design documents as required for all phases of design (concept, schematic, design development, construction documents) - Conducts field investigations as required to understand project requirements - Prepare documents in conformance with PIVOT standards and quality control requirements - Proficiency using design software: AutoCAD / Revit / SketchUp - Proficiency using Adobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign - Organized, well-spoken and cool under pressure - Able to multi-task, manage progress and track project timelines - Familiarity with building design, and knowledge of material and furniture - Experience in setting up presentations, FF&E standards, bid documents, material binders required by project - Knowledge in writing and reviewing FF&E specifications, millwork drawings and - construction documentation - Enthusiasm for learning, value mentorship, and professional growth. - Support Business Development activities, including marketing proposals, interviews, conference attendance, etc · Represent PIVOT in the national interior design and professional community, participating in client development, industry events, and market representation - Willing to travel for work *Employment Benefits:* - 401(k) - 401(k) matching - Health Insurance - Dental Insurance - Vision Insurance - Life Insurance - Paid Time Off - Professional Development Assistance - Referral Program We pride ourselves on creating a working environment that is intended to find a real balance of life and career.
