About this role

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interior Design Manager to lead and inspire our design team while driving the success of our projects and client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial interior design, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities. This role requires a strategic thinker who is as comfortable fostering creativity as they are managing schedules, budgets, and client relationships. Key Responsibilities • Leadership & Team Management • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers to ensure excellence in design execution and team collaboration. • Facilitate regular team meetings, design critiques, and professional development opportunities. • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive culture that supports creativity and innovation. • Business Development • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and partner throughout the project lifecycle. • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including preparing presentations, proposals, and pitches. • Represent the company at networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings. • Project Management • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure all milestones are met. • Manage resource allocation across multiple projects to maximize efficiency and maintain quality standards. • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to address challenges and maintain project momentum. • Design Oversight • Guide the design process from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand standards. • Review and approve design concepts, material selections, and final presentations. • Maintain a pulse on industry trends, innovations, and best practices to ensure cutting-edge solutions for clients. • Operational Excellence • Develop and implement processes for improving workflow efficiency, time management, and project coordination. • Ensure all projects adhere to applicable codes, regulations, and sustainability guidelines. • Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and reports with a focus on profitability and client satisfaction. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is REQUIRED. Please do not apply if you do not have a design degree. • Minimum of 8 years of professional interior design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in commercial interior design projects. • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. • Experience in business development and client relationship management. • Knowledge of applicable codes, sustainability standards, and industry best practices. Preferred Skills • Certification through NCIDQ, LEED, or equivalent is a plus. • Familiarity with multifamily, boutique hospitality, or senior living design projects. • Strong understanding of branding and its integration into design.
