Why we’re looking for you: We are looking for a talented Interior Design Intern to join our award-winning architectural, planning, and interior design firm. We seek professionals to work in our Philadelphia, PA, office and bring their knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to the Interior Design department. The Interior Design Intern will support the design team in learning environments, workplace design, and other specialty types for a broad range of clients from Science & Tech, Industrial to Educational and Cultural Institutions.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Interior Design Intern will support and learn from the design team. Successful candidates will organize, update, and maintain the interior resource library, establish relationships with manufacturer reps, and support the production team with other tasks as needed. This role will assist the design team while learning in a hands-on environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize, update, and maintain the interior resource library
Set up meetings and updates with manufacturer representatives by maintaining the Outlook calendar
Establish relationships with manufacturer’s representatives
Support the design team in the creation of presentation materials, finish and material selections and specifications
Assemble presentation boards and materials
Assist with developing and maintaining FF&E budgets and FF&E specifications
Assist with drafting construction documents including Revit drafting and redlines
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Experience in effectively working in teams to achieve departmental and company goals
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and must be detail oriented
Technical skills and abilities
Professionalism
Organizational skills. Able to maintain a clean and orderly environment
Verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiastic and passionate about design
Willingness to learn
Familiar with Revit
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects concurrently
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
EDUCATION:
Near Completion of Interior Design Degree from an accredited school of Interior Design
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, light lifting may be required.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
In person
Flexible hours: 16- 40 hours a week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
