Design Team Intern Timeline: Start in May-August 2026 - dates may be adjusted based on schedule Hours: Minimum 32 hours per week during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Location: Hawthorne's Corporate Office located in Greensboro, NC Compensation: Hourly Paid Internship Position Summary | Interior Design Intern The Interior Design Summer Intern will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Design and the Interior Design Manager to develop innovative interior design concepts and select furniture, finishes, and amenities for both new developments and existing properties, ensuring they align with Hawthorne's standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in an interior design environment or current enrollment in an interior design program is preferredStrong design sensibilityExcellent organizational skills with the capability to prioritize multiple tasksEffective verbal, written, and graphic communication skillsProficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, or Bluebeam is a plusFamiliarity with Microsoft Office is preferredEssential Functions and Responsibilities: Propose furniture, artwork, and accessory selections for existing properties to refresh spaces while adhering to budget constraintsRecommend paint, fixture, and finish selections for both existing and new propertiesCollaborate with existing amenity vendor relationships to suggest layouts and finish selections for amenities such as pool furniture, playgrounds, fitness equipment, dog parks, and mail/package areasAssist in the organization and management of the material libraryContribute to the creation of renderings, graphics, and presentation materialsEngage in project ideation and actively communicate the design processParticipate in site visits to observe existing conditions and track construction progressAbout Hawthorne Hawthorne Residential Partners is a leading multifamily real estate management company headquartered in Greensboro, NC.
