About this role
SUMMARY
The interior design intern will be responsible for various tasks associated with residential and commercial projects. This person is going to
help our lead interior designer and her two full time staff keep things moving and organized. This intern will be exposed to
various project types, clients and professionals in the architecture and engineering industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interior Design (90%)
Developing material palettes and presentation materials as instructed by the Interior Designer.
With direction from Interior Designer, create 3D renderings for client presentations.
With direction from the Interior Designer, contact and schedule representative meetings and product updates.
Assisting Interior Designers with various project deliverables.
Administrative (10%)
Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions.
Participate in training and development activities as needed and directed by the supervisor.
COMPETENCIES
Technical Knowledge
o Knowledge and understanding of interior design principles and the ability to apply to a broad cross section of project types.
o Ability to use design software to create plans and models.
Office Technology
o Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet the
firm’s needs.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled in an Interior Design program at an accredited college or university.
Experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Revit experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
This position requires the physical dexterity and ability to negotiate around an office area, and around a crowded
and a busy working area, including construction sites.
