About this role
Jenni Egger Designs (JED) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Soft Goods Studio Manager to lead the ongoing development and daily operation of our Soft Goods Workroom. This role is pivotal in creating a high-functioning, profitable workroom that produces luxury soft goods for interior design clients. The ideal candidate will be a leader, educator, and innovator who can establish processes, guide a team, and ensure the workroom becomes a premier offering within the JED business.
Objectives of this role:
• Lead and develop the soft goods workroom
• Create and implement processes
• Educate and inspire the Soft Goods Team
• Produce high-quality soft goods
• Help drive growth for the JED Soft Goods studio as a premiere offering through the JED firm
Responsibilities:
• Build out the Soft Goods Workroom, including procuring supplies, machines, and tools.
• Identify and implement the ideal team structure for the workroom.
• Establish and maintain an efficient, productive, and profitable work environment.
• Develop and refine workflows to ensure smooth scheduling and timely delivery of projects.
• Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key functions and processes.
• Create a pipeline document to outline upcoming business and ensure workroom readiness.
• Establish JED standards for products, processes, pricing, and team roles.
• Teach the JED team about soft goods products, processes, pricing, and people.
• Role model best practices for fabrication techniques and workroom operations.
• Conduct team check-ins and meetings to align on goals, schedules, and progress.
• Oversee the production of luxury soft goods, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget.
• Maintain the workroom for efficiency and excellence, including daily and weekly maintenance checklists.
• Track progress, analyze performance, and adjust workflows as needed.
• Set goals for the continued development of the workroom as a functional and profitable profit center.
Required skills and qualifications:
• Experience in a drapery or upholstery workroom
• Strong sewing skills
• Comfortable with technology and basic software tools
• A leader who can create, develop, and teach.
• A role model who can build relationships and inspire the team.
• A results-driven individual who can track progress, adjust workflows, and deliver excellence.
• Ability to climb stairs as workroom is located on third floor Ability to work on-site, Monday - Friday.
