About this role

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive organization, is seeking a skilled Interior Design Engineer. This role is responsible for developing high-quality interior systems, supporting full lifecycle product development, and collaborating across engineering and supplier teams to deliver production-ready components. Job Duties Develop and engineer interior components and systems including trim, instrument panels, consoles, and headlinersSupport packaging, design, release, and launch of interior systems across vehicle programsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align interior systems with overall vehicle performance targetsPartner with suppliers to ensure technical feasibility, quality standards, and on-time deliveryCreate and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and release dataConduct CAD-based design, packaging studies, and DFM evaluationsDrive continuous improvement of development tools, processes, and methodologiesSupport prototype builds, validation activities, and production launch readiness Skills & Experience Required 4+ years of experience developing automotive interior components and systemsExperience with hard trim, soft trim, instrument panels, door panels, consoles, or headlinersProficiency in CAD tools for 2D/3D design and packaging (CATIA V5 or V6 preferred)Experience creating technical specifications and managing development timelinesKnowledge of automotive interior systems, supplier capabilities, and industry standardsExperience supporting product launches and production readiness activitiesBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Desired Experience completing full product lifecycle from concept through production launchKnowledge of plastic part design, injection molding, and manufacturing processesExperience with DFM, GD&T, and tolerance analysisUnderstanding of ergonomics, safety requirements, and regulatory considerationsExperience with materials selection and structural performance validationExposure to fast-paced product development environments with accelerated timelines Blue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
