CAD Drafter – Interior Design Location: Chicago, West Loop Employment Type: Full-Time Reports to: Senior Designer / Design Director About Us Aleksandra Nova Design is a luxury interior design studio specializing in high-end private residences and boutique hospitality projects globally. We are passionate about crafting refined, timeless interiors that merge architectural integrity with artistic vision. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled CAD Drafter to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the design team by translating creative concepts into precise construction documents and technical drawings. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced design environment and has a strong understanding of interior construction and detailing. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed CAD drawings including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and details. • Draft custom furniture, millwork, and built-in cabinetry with precision and clarity. • Develop and maintain comprehensive drawing sets through all project phases (SD, DD, CD). • Work closely with designers to accurately represent design intent. • Update drawings based on markups, redlines, and site changes. • Assist in preparing furniture and finish schedules, and integrate them into drawing sets. • Ensure all drawings adhere to internal CAD standards and project requirements. • Coordinate consultant drawings and integrate architectural/MEP overlays when necessary. • Organize, manage, and archive digital drawing files efficiently. Qualifications • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Archicad, 3DsMax or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. • 2–5 years of drafting experience in interior design, architecture, or millwork detailing. • Strong knowledge of interior construction methods, joinery, and material applications. • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and translate them into detailed interior documents. • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or collaboratively. • Degree or certification in Drafting, Interior Design, or Architecture preferred.
