He is known for his timeless, traditional and transitional designs. Barry began his painting career in 2008, layering his interior design business with a robust artistic career. Inspired by abstract art, Barry creates custom artwork for his clients in addition to having his own fabric and accessory collection with Kravet Inc. Job Description: Design Director Our nationally known design firm is growing rapidly. We are looking for an experienced, talented, and detail-oriented Design Director to join our interior design team. This individual will play a key role in leading the design team, overseeing design projects and timelines, sourcing materials, CAD drawings, and ensuring deadlines are met and each project is a huge success! Responsibilities: · Lead all projects working closely with principal designer, Amanda Lantz · Develop, inspire, and lead the firm’s design team · Develop strategic design plans with each projected and oversee timelines · Manage project scopes and ensure all updates are standardized and organized · Oversee and execute the full design process, from initial sketch through the start of production · Work with minor oversight to perform assignments including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation · Attend client meetings to discuss design requirements for new constructions and alterations and discuss project details; participate in team meetings; organize all meeting notes · Gather necessary measurements, dimensions, and other routine calculations for design layouts · Perform daily/weekly work in AutoCAD · Interact with architects and designers to exchange ideas and provide support · Ensure all vital information and documentation is recorded and maintained throughout each project, communicate effectively and professionally with team, client, vendors and contractors · Sourcing of building and project materials · Produce mood, material, and design presentations independently or with minimal supervision · Ensures that items have been ordered in a timely fashion and are checked in to the desired location, based on project · Actively participates in installs · Upholds strong and professional relationships with vendors, clients, and team members · Provide extensive and rapid-fire knowledge of vendors, materials, and resources to the team · Be wildly creative and push the boundaries! Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Design or related field · 3-5 years of professional senior design experience · Formulates designs which are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes · Advanced in AutoCAD · General home construction knowledge · Extremely verse in materials, surfaces, furniture systems and specifications · Extremely knowledgeable with architectural details · Advanced in developing design concepts · Background in using design software · Able to develop or obtain external architectural and engineering resources · Excellent time and people management, communication, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time, in addition to work independently · Able to provide work examples and/or portfolio of personal work experience · Ability to resolve complex design and communication issues · Ability to accommodate some regional and domestic travel (minimal) Other and Compensation: Type of Compensation: Salary Wage: Extremely competitive salary (based on experience) Location of position: Carmel, IN (in-person) Health Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision insurance available Other Benefits: 401K (after one full year) PTO: To be discussed, plus major holidays are paid time off Interested in applying for this position?
