Interior Design Consultant

Compensation: This role offers a starting base pay of $15.80 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on your experience. Overview: As an Interior Design Consultant at Floor & Decor, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional design consultations that help our customers realize their projects. Your goal is to foster lasting relationships and brand loyalty by listening to customer needs and crafting creative design solutions tailored to their personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Requirements: • At least one (1) year of interior design or retail/sales experience. • A degree in Design is advantageous. • Familiarity with hard surface flooring is preferred. • Strong mathematical skills are necessary. • Must be self-motivated and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced setting. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office. • Internal candidates need a minimum of 12 months as a design consultant. Key Responsibilities: • Welcome and assist customers in-store, addressing their design needs. • Organize design appointments for both existing clients and new customers, nurturing relationships through networking and referrals. • Provide guidance on tile, wood, stone, and accessory selections for residential and commercial projects. • Create and sell comprehensive, aesthetically pleasing design solutions. • Manage multiple customer projects concurrently, ensuring accuracy, timely follow-up, and clear communication. • Collaborate effectively with store leadership and staff to facilitate project management from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals. • Support company initiatives by modeling best practices for store staff. • Stay updated on current and emerging design trends. • Utilize design applications including Salesforce and MyProject effectively. • Perform additional duties as assigned. Working Conditions: • Some travel may be required by car. • This role frequently involves working in a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy conditions. Physical Requirements: The job requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent use of hands and fingers is necessary, along with occasional standing, walking, and climbing.
