About the position
The Interior Design Center Leader is primarily responsible for the management, development, training, and motivation of the design teams while maintaining a high level of customer contact and achieving sales goals. This role involves actively coaching design team associates to enhance the professionalism of design services and assisting with developing business plans to increase market reach and revenue. The leader will partner with each associate to manage design projects, customer contacts and relationships, sales volume, design consultant effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction, holding design teams accountable to attain goals.
Responsibilities
• Overall management of the design center.
• Implement change initiatives and develop successful relationships with the team.
• Hold team accountable through leadership and coaching to meet or exceed established sales goals and benchmarks.
• Drive new business and increase sales with grassroots marketing initiatives.
• Develop the Trade business including PPP and utilize social media and digital channels for online interactions.
• Perform functions necessary for the development of written business plans.
• Review P&L statements monthly with Market Design Leader and Market Operations Leader.
• Develop and participate in community programs to increase exposure for Ethan Allen.
• Complete performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure adherence to company policies such as Code of Conduct and workplace harassment policies.
• Provide guidance to key personnel to ensure sales growth and financial integrity.
• Implement company policies and monitor compliance.
• Provide training sessions for the design center and participate in corporately sponsored training.
• Set goals monthly and quarterly with all designers.
• Contribute ideas for changes and improvements in policy affecting design center growth.
• Participate in the reconciliation of inventories.
• Propose innovative strategies for business growth.
• Perform any other duties as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience, or High School diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
• Proven sales background in residential interior design.
• Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage the design process and provide feedback on design projects.
• Demonstrated ability to practice residential interior design.
• Ability to train and coach for design, product knowledge, sales performance, and customer service.
• Must be able to work holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Valid driver's license required.
