About this role

Major Objectives The Interior Design Associate will support The Garrett Companies’ interior design efforts on a national level, providing hands-on involvement in projects from initial concept through final installation. This role combines design development and procurement responsibilities, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with design intent. Projects will primarily focus on multifamily development, with additional exposure to retail, office, outdoor, and smaller-scale residential work. Specific Duties and Responsibilities • Assist with project development and designs from concept development through execution. • Develop FF&E selections, color palettes, material presentations, and finish boards to align with budgets and project goals. • Support preparation of design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and product/vendor selections. • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and Construction Documents using AutoCAD/Revit. • Implement and manage procurement processes such as create estimates and budgets for specified procurement, order, track, and coordinate all FF&E logistics across multiple projects, and schedule and coordinate installations with vendors, installers, and construction teams. • Research materials, finishes, and furnishings; maintain product libraries and samples. • Coordinate signage procurement and installation for assigned projects. • Partner with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to achieve project objectives. • Travel as required for site installs, project coordination, and occasional trade shows. • Other duties as assigned. Prerequisites • 3-5 years of interior design or procurement-related experience; multifamily or hospitality preferred. • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, specifications, and building codes. • Proficiency in design and technical software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, 20/20 Worksheet). • Strong budgeting, estimating, and procurement skills. • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities. • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects at once. • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred. • NCIDQ certification or desire to complete preferred.
