Description: The Interior Design Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the design process across multiple projects. Working under routine guidance, this position involves collaborating on various design stages, from programming, space planning, design development, and FF&E, to construction documentation and administration. The Interior Design Associate will gain hands-on experience throughout the phases of design with a focus on supporting project teams in design creation and documentation, preparing presentation materials, and researching materials and finishes, all while adhering to high aesthetic standards and sustainability goals. The Interior Design Associate must be a team player, well-versed in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up or other 3D modeling software, and Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to pivot between tasks in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. There is opportunity to move into a project manager role and direct their own projects. They must have a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces and pursuing inspiration through quality design in the everyday. This is a competitively salaried position with benefits. Responsibilities: · Work with the Design & Build team to create innovative solutions for tenants moving into and/or revising the footprint of their space within the Robinson Park portfolio of properties · Provide meticulous documentation throughout the design process which may include space plans, schematic design and schedules, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and details, millwork design, furniture layouts and specification, finish plans, door schedules, cost analysis, engineering systems coordination · Understand real-world application of design details and manage construction administration · Provide as-built documentation for properties within the Robinson Park portfolio and coordinate with brokers · Communicate effectively with clients as required · Conduct basic and logical interpretations of applicable codes and standards · Learn more about the relationship between real estate and design · Consulting with manufacturer reps on product information and arrange rep meetings/presentations for internal sample library updates Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or equivalent from CIDA-accredited program. · Preference will be given to Interior Design candidates who have passed or who are pursuing NCIDQ certification and have 2-4 years of experience working in an architecture firm. · Professional and personal integrity. · Must be detail-oriented. · Must be people-oriented. · Must have strong organizational skills . · Must be able to communicate design ideas to clients and team effectively, both orally and visually. · Must be a self-starter and motivated. · Must be well-versed in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D-modeling software · Must be well-versed in Adobe Creative Cloud; specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. · Must demonstrate a graphic eye and be able to put together presentations that communicate ideas in a logical and beautiful way. · Physical requirements include: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on design tasks and presentations. Capacity to move around construction sites for field observations and measurements, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. Visual acuity to work on detailed drawings and computer screens for extended periods. Manual dexterity for material handling, and the use of design tools and software. Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds may be required. Utilize protective gear as needed during site visits and fieldwork.
