interior design assistant

We are currently looking for a passionate, creative, hard-working interior designer. Our designer needs to be able to wear several hats on multiple projects simultaneously. We are looking for an individual who thrives in client-facing roles, can lead their own design projects, and work collaboratively with other designers and consultants. This position responsibility is also to service clients with a selling strategy that follows the guidelines of our trade and client Engagement Model while emphasizing Interior Design. QUALIFICATIONS: • Art, Architecture, or Interior Design education. • 2-3 years experience in a customer service, retail, or furniture store environment. • Developed knowledge of interior detailing. • Experience to produce presentation drawings and diagrams, including detailed furniture plans. • Effective communication, both written and graphic, with the design team, trade partners, and clients. • High-degree of self-motivation and resourcefulness. • Proficiency in industry standard software and creative software including: • 2-D CAD Software: AutoCA • 3-D Modeling: SketchUp or Rhino • Adobe Creative Suite • Microsoft Office Suite RESPONSIBILITIES: • Live Our Vision, Values and Beliefs every day. • Greet and engage with trade and client. • Determine guests’ goals and requirements of their design project • Provide support with all phases of the design process, including: consultations, site visits, design development, presentations and delivery • Present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations • Maintains current knowledge of merchandise lines; product features, benefits and availability • Master product knowledge and brand design inspiration • Maintain a strong interest in the luxury and design industry • Completes required training in the expected timeframe, and participates in ongoing learning opportunities • Ensure that the stores is “Grand Opening” ready by completing the daily task list and style guides • Able to work in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements • Ability to travel locally or out of state • Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 30 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques • Ability to maneuver effectively around Gallery floor, stock room, and office • Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing. Our mission is to occupy retail and office spaces for businesses focusing on architecture and design.
