Interior Design Assistant

About us Intermark Design Group is a model home merchandising firm located in Orlando, FL 32808. We are looking for an artful Interior Design Assistant to undertake a variety of space designing projects. You will deal with design from conceptual development and liaising with the stakeholders to managing and executing the design. The goal is to design practical spaces and visually pleasing. Responsibilities • Assist in developing the design project from concept to completion • Define project requirements and schedule during the “brief” • Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans • Follow guidelines that align with the designer budget • Research and decide on materials and products sourcing • Produce “sample” and “mood presentations” • Work under the supervision of a senior designer • Research and follow industry changes, design evolutions and best industry practices • Participate in model home installations and be available for overnight travel when installations are out of state. Skills • Proven working experience in designing interior spaces (mostly space planning and new construction) • Expertise in furniture layout, color, lighting, materials selection, furniture selection and installations. • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs • Excellent portfolio of previous work • Creative talent, imagination and eye for design • Communication and presentation skills • Project management skills • Accredited college degree in Interior Design or equivalent Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Employee discount • Flexible spending account • Health savings account • Life insurance • Paid time off • Referral program • Retirement plan Schedule: • Monday to Friday Education: • Associate (Required) Willingness to travel: • 25% (Required) Work Location: In person
