About this role

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 08/09/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Prepares pre-and post-occupancy evaluations of project site as it pertains to furniture installation; Prepares pre-and post-occupancy evaluations of project site as it pertains to furniture installation; Issues, sets up, and instructs personnel on the proper use of ergonomic supplies. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 full year of graduate level education - 18 semester hours is considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time graduate study. Transcript required. OR, Superior Academic Achievement: For applicants who have completed (or expect to complete within 9 months) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. S.A.A. is based on: (1) Class standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Transcript/documentation required OR (2) Grade-point average - Applicants must have a grade-point average of:a.3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or b.3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Transcript/documentation required OR (3) Honor society membership - Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Transcript/documentation required ACWA test requirement: Applicants selected at the GS-07 level may be required to complete a Administrative Careers With America (ACWA) examination to further qualify for this position. The applicant selected at the GS-07 grade level will perform the duties outlined at the GS-09 position description but will operate under closer supervision and will not be expected to demonstrate the same level of subject matter mastery. GS-09 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: In addition to the specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level, Prepares Government cost estimates, evaluates bid proposals, and develops standards for efficient space management of furniture purchases; Prepares Government cost estimates, evaluates bid proposals, and develops standards for efficient space management of furniture purchases; Prepares furniture selection plans and related documents in compliance with governing criteria and project requirements; Evaluates work areas to ensure furniture placement for optimal ergonomic performance, maintaining an inventory of appropriate ergonomic supplies. . To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Transcripts Required. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and graduate level education beyond the first year (18 semester hours). Transcript required. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Contracting/Procurement Cost Estimation and Analysis Manages and Organizes Information Plan and organize work Planning and Evaluating Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: This work is predominately physical. Lifting furniture, carrying furniture and moving furniture is part of the daily routine. Some furniture items weighing over 150 pounds, therefore knowing how to move these items safely is extremely important. This also requires physical activity such as working, stooping, bending, crawling, working on back or side and overhead work or work in tight spaces. These above requirements are also needed in determining space needs and requirements, furniture needs and ergonomic needs and for the inspection of existing facilities.
