Interior Design Assistant

Job Summary Exciting new home décor and design boutique in Rye Brook is looking for a young, responsible and energetic employee with interior design knowledge to assist with interior design projects as well as helping customers in the retail boutique. Flexible hours but must be available to work on some weekends. Position will start in September, hiring now. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities • Assist in the development of interior design concepts for a variety of spaces, including residential, commercial, and public areas. • Create mood boards, material palettes, and renderings to present design ideas to clients. • Produce detailed drawings and specifications for interior spaces, including layouts, furnishings, fixtures, and fittings. • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design concepts are executed accurately and timely. • Stay updated on the latest interior design trends, materials, and products. • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation. • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications. • Provide administrative support to senior designers, such as sourcing materials, preparing presentations, and liaising with clients. • Utilize software such as Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD for design presentations Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field - Proven experience in interior design projects with a strong portfolio showcasing your work - Proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD for design development - Knowledge of remodeling processes, project management, and budgeting - Strong communication skills to interact with clients and vendors effectively - Ability to draft plans and create visual representations of designs - Experience in lighting sales or sales experience is a plus Join our team as an Interior Designer to bring creativity and innovation to our projects while delivering exceptional design solutions that exceed client expectations.
