Overview:
The successful applicant will be part of the design assistant team. Design assistants collaborate with the principal designer, co-workers, vendors, contractors, and clients to find solutions that accomplish the clients’ design goals. The successful applicant will be motivated, highly organized, and have a positive attitude. The position is full-time, and pay will be based on experience... level. Our company is a locally owned and operated interior design firm that has project all over North America.
Responsibilities:
• Request quotes from vendors and create proposals for clients based on quotes from vendors.
• Create and manage purchase orders.
• Match with AP invoices based on products received. Communicate with accounting to invoice customers
• Create Excel spreadsheet for proposals summary to give to client
• Resourcing fabrics, finishes, furniture, etc. as needed
• Review with executive PO’s before going to accounting
• Request payment from accounting
• Sending PO’s and ordering
• Acknowledgements, updating pricing and making sure accurate for invoicing to accounting
• Organize and prepare for meetings, including gathering documents or materials and attending to logistics of meetings
• Answer and respond to phone calls, communicate messages and information to the executive
• Prioritize emails and respond when necessary
• Driving for a wide variety of errands
• Creating/Updating FFE Schedules
• Assist in preparation for client meetings
• Assist with coordination of site visits with trades/vendors.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field. Experience working professionally.
• Design Manager knowledge a plus
• AutoCAD
• SketchUp (not required but a plus
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Time-management skills
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Organization skills
• Ability to multitask
• Basic understanding of frequently used computer software and programs, such as Microsoft Office
• Interpersonal skills
• Good driving record
