About this role
TNE Design by The Nest Egg is seeking a positive-minded interior design assistant who will be working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment assisting our lead designers with all facets of model home design. This role will involve providing comprehensive administrative support, assisting with project... management tasks, managing the ordering process, and ensuring the overall organization of projects and internal work. There is flexibility on whether this position is Full or Part-Time (min 20 hours per week) depending on the availability and qualifications of the candidate. Initially this will be in-person with the potential to transition to hybrid.
Qualifications
Must Have’s:
- Hardworking, honest, friendly and reliable
- Be able work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanor
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets and Dropbox
- Strong computer skills; must be able to quickly switch between programs and screens to maximize efficiency
- Highly organized and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Ability to research and select merchandise using vendor websites and catalogues
- Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines and deliverables at once
- Resourceful in problem-solving and finding solutions
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines
Nice to Have’s:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in interior design
- Work experience in design-related industry or home building
- Working knowledge of Design Files, Canva and Quickbooks Desktop
- Knowledge of window treatment and hardware styles and ability to place orders for window treatments
- Ability to read an architectural floorplan
- Ability to travel to job sites (VA, MD, NC, SC, GA, FL, WV)
- Space planning abilities
- Tasteful eye for color, texture and pattern
- Knowledge of the furniture and home accessories industry vendors
Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Designers with:
- Data entry to include creating order spreadsheets from design plans
- Researching products to gather details on dimensions, availability, pricing and finishes
- Placing product orders, receiving acknowledgements, confirming accuracy of orders and making adjustments to orders as needed
- Vendor communication
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
• Monday to Friday
