Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for an Interior Design Assistant at MOD Interiors. The Interior Design Assistant will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks, including space planning, communication, creating floor plans, selecting furniture, and assisting with interior design projects. This role is located in Southlake, TX, with flexibility for some remote work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Office administration: answering phones, messages, scheduling, shopping for office supplies, emails, letters,
· Provide support with all phases of the design process, including consultations, site visits, design development, presentations, and installations
• Responsible for all filing, upkeep of client folders and bins
• Assist in keeping communication lines open with client, builder, and subcontractors
• Create Purchase Orders; work closely with purchasing agent to ensure timely receipt of all goods
• Maintain receiving log and mark goods received
• Review and revise client list on a weekly basis with Designer
• Compose daily/weekly emails of office/client happenings to keep designer and clients informed
• Assist with project deliveries on installation days
• Maintain resource libraries
· Produce brand appropriate presentations, communicating design concepts, space planning and product selections
· Represent the MOD brand through polished communication, personal appearance, and professionalism
QUALIFICATIONS
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn
· Experience in space planning, interior design, and creating floor plans
· Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
· Knowledge of material and furniture selection and placement
· Attention to detail and ability to multitask
· Proficiency in design software and tools like Studio Designer
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Previous experience within a design firm is preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field is preferred
· Highly organized and Results-oriented
· Proficiency with Microsoft Operating System, IOS devices, Microsoft Office and Google Applications
· Art, Architecture or Interior Design education is a Plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Licensed to drive
• Ability to travel locally
• Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver effectively around Gallery floor, stock room, and office
• Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing
