Interior Design Assistant

Jones-Keena & Co., an award-winning, luxury interior design firm in Troy, Michigan, is seeking a Design Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, creative, and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative. The candidate should have relevant experience in high-end residential interior design. The candidate must be able to work in a group setting with a flexible attitude and the ability to prioritize workload, multiple tasks, and deadlines. Professionalism and excellent communication skills are essential. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist lead designers with schematics, design development, building documents and order administration / billing for specific projects • Create specifications, proposals, purchase orders and invoices through Design Manager • Take detailed Produce FF&E schedules for builders and contractors notes in client meetings • Work with Design Manager • Work with interior design vendors to coordinate estimates • Communicate with client and often be liaison between client / contractor • Place and track orders as needed for materials, furniture, etc. • Run project related errands and picking up samples • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in interior design is required Past interior design internship or employment is a must Ability to interact with discerning clientele Proficiency in Design Manager is a plus Detail-orientated is a must Organized, professional appearance Excellent time management Skills
