About this role

We’re looking for a talented Interior Designer to join our growing residential design-build team. This is a part-time role (20–30 hours per week) with the expectation to transition into a full-time position. The Interior Designer is responsible for creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs that align with client vision and project goals, ensuring that designs are feasible to build, cost-effective, and meet company standards. The Designer works closely with the client, lead designer, and project manager throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to final completion. This role requires a strong balance of creative design skills, technical documentation, and client coordination. Key Responsibilities: - Produce detailed design documentation including floor plans, elevations, electrical plans, cabinetry drawings, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect and AutoCAD - Review and refine design concepts, layouts, and material selections - Create mood boards and client-facing presentations using Canva - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all design-related communication - Collaborate with internal teams (design, drafting, estimating, project management) to ensure designs are coordinated and construction-ready - Source, specify, and coordinate materials, finishes, and fixtures through direct vendor communication - Accompany clients to vendor meetings and material selections as needed - Prepare comprehensive final design packages for handoff to the project manager prior to construction - Manage material procurement, including ordering, documentation, cost tracking, and delivery schedules - Maintain accurate finish schedules and specifications using Google Sheets - Conduct site visits to support construction progress and ensure design intent is maintained - Travel to project sites up to two hours away as required Qualifications: - 2+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in residential or design-build - Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Chief Architect, and/or SketchUp - Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Canva - Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail - Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - Strong eye for design, space planning, and material selection - Knowledgeable in interior materials, construction details, specifications, and current industry trends - Ability to work 20–30 hours per week with intent to transition to full-time Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Profit sharing Work Location: In person
