About this role

Small established interior design firm looking for a Design and Construction Assistant. Applicants need to have a minimum of a 2 year degree in interior design, and some previous experience in the industry , and should be able to work individually and within a team on fast paced interior design and remodel projects from concept through installation. Our clients have hired us for the design of their spaces, and then to implement the designers’ visions. You will work closely with the designers, our construction manager, sub-contractors, and our clients and assist in all areas of design and project management. You will work on multiple projects at any given time and need to be able to provide the highest level of quality and customer service possible. Some previous experience of remodel construction and interior design is a must. You are: · A Communicator- You will work daily with the designers, the sub-contractors, and the clients, and need to be able to clearly and positively communicate with all. · Organized - Lots of details to be tracked and executed on, you need to be extremely organized, have a good memory, and keep great tracking systems. Speed and accuracy is key. -Detail oriented – Details are everything when it comes to design, you need to be able to spot missing details, things that are incorrect, etc. before they become a problem. · Positive - You need to have an optimistic approach and an energetic personality. You will: Assist with specifications, presentations, spec lists, pricing, etc. Do some AutoCAD for floor plans, elevations, and overall design concepts. Work together with the designers and sub-contractors to create budgets, meet at project site early on with sub-contractors for bids, receive bids and quotes, put together estimates. Work in Excel, be proficient in Word and PowerPoint, speak and write perfect English. Create timelines and assist with scheduling, communicate with subs and clients. Work with purchaser to get materials to the sites, check materials, ensure timely deliveries. Run errands and make sure the studio is always looking its best.
