About this role
Nicole Fisher Interior Design is seeking an Interior Architect Lead to own both the technical execution and project delivery of our work from drawing set through construction and installation.
This role is responsible for ensuring that what is drawn is what gets built, on time, and at the level intended.
You will lead all technical production, manage project execution, and build the internal function that drives projects from paper to reality.
You will work directly with the Founder and Design Director to translate high-level creative direction into precise, buildable work and ensure it is executed with rigor in the field.
What You’ll Own
Technical Production
• Lead the development and oversight of all construction drawing packages
• Produce and direct plans, elevations, sections, and detailed millwork drawings that are fully resolved and buildable
• Review all documentation for accuracy, coordination, and constructability prior to issue
• Establish and enforce drawing standards across the studio
Project Management & Delivery
• Own project timelines from design handoff through installation
• Build, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with key milestones
• Track progress across all phases and proactively identify risks, delays, and gaps
• Ensure all moving parts stay aligned including design, procurement, fabrication, and construction
• Drive accountability across all stakeholders to maintain schedule and execution standards
Construction Execution
• Own the realization of all technical work on site
• Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, trades, fabricators, and consultants
• Lead all coordination including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, and change orders
• Conduct regular site visits to verify alignment with drawings and resolve issues in real time
• Make decisions in the field to maintain progress and protect design intent
Cross-Team Coordination
• Partner with the Design Director to ensure a clean, complete handoff from design to execution
• Work closely with Procurement to align product timelines with construction schedules
• Lead coordination meetings with clarity and authority across internal and external teams
• Ensure communication is structured, documented, and actionable
Function Building
• Build and lead the technical architecture and project management function as the firm scales
• Develop systems, templates, and workflows that increase speed, clarity, and accountability
• Mentor junior and technical staff, raising the standard of output and ownership
• Establish a culture of precision, follow-through, and proactive problem solving
What Makes This Role Different
• You own both the drawings and the outcome
• You are responsible for timeline, coordination, and execution, not just documentation
• You will build the systems and team, not inherit them
• You will be on site ensuring work is done correctly, not reviewing from a distance
This role is structured for growth into a Director-level position.
Requirements
• 5+ years experience in interior architecture, architecture, or high-end residential project management
• Proven experience producing and managing full construction documentation sets
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Strong understanding of construction detailing, sequencing, and buildability
• Demonstrated experience managing project timelines and coordinating multiple stakeholders
• Experience working directly with contractors, trades, and fabricators on active job sites
• Ability to lead conversations with authority across design, technical, and construction teams
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills with extreme attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, forward-thinking approach
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously without losing control of details
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
• Willingness to travel for site visits as required
You Are
• Accountable for outcomes, not tasks
• Highly organized and detail-obsessed
• Direct, clear, and confident in communication
• Decisive in the field and calm under pressure
• Motivated to build and lead a function, not just participate in one
