About this role

Description: Responsibilities... • The Gabberts Interior Design Intern is tasked with learning the current trends, concepts, and elements of interior design through partnership of an Interior Designer. • To provide the most up to date information to potential clients, the Gabberts Interior Design Intern will learn about the vast array of products, vendors, and resources including materials and construction. • The Gabberts Interior Design Intern will grow their sales skills. This includes learning and practicing the aspects of Customer Focused Selling • Client relationships are key to an Interior Designer’s success. As such, the Gabberts Interior Design Intern will learn how to create a portfolio and build a book of business • The Gabberts Interior Design Intern assists with various tasks including ordering memo samples, coordinating pre-work meetings and presentations, and assisting with house calls and space planning appointments. • Staying on top of current trends is essential. To help facilitate this, the Gabberts Interior Design Intern will attend Gabberts floor tours, fabric showings, and vendor presentations. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education/experience: This applicant needs to be currently enrolled in an Interior Design program at an accredited college or university and have basic knowledge of Interior Design. In addition the applicant must meet the following criteria: • 3.0 GPA • Student must be in their second year of a two year program, or at least junior status at a 4 year institution • Transcript may be required upon request. Physical Demands: Moderate physical demands required. The employee is required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Light cleaning including wiping down surfaces, dusting, and vacuuming is required. The employee may be required to push, pull, and lift furniture and accessories up to 50 pounds. Other: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Reasonable accommodation will be made for those who require it.
