Furniture Showroom and design associate

Overview We are seeking a motivated, polished, and design-oriented individual to join our luxury interior design studio and furniture showroom. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, has a passion for beautiful interiors, and is excited to grow within a high-end residential design firm. The role combines luxury furniture sales, showroom operations, client service, and support for our interior design team. Every day is different—you may be assisting clients in the showroom, preparing for design presentations, coordinating furniture orders, or supporting project meetings. This position has a base salary plus a commission. Responsibilities Welcome and assist showroom clients with furniture, lighting, and accessory selections. Build furniture proposals, quotations, and purchase orders. Follow up with showroom leads and maintain excellent client relationships. Coordinate furniture orders, deliveries, and vendor communication. Maintain showroom merchandising, displays, pricing, and presentation standards. Assist during interior design meetings by taking notes and organizing project information. Prepare finish boards, material samples, specifications, and client presentations. Read architectural plans and assist with design documentation. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and clients throughout the design process. Help maintain organized project files, schedules, and documentation. Provide exceptional customer service while representing our studio professionally. Qualifications & Experience Background in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related design field preferred. Experience with AutoCAD; knowledge of drafting standards and construction documentation. Ability to read architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and construction sets. Understanding of residential space planning, furniture layouts, lighting design, color theory, and material selection. Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through. Comfortable learning multiple furniture lines, finishes, fabrics, and product specifications. Professional appearance and confidence working with luxury clientele. Experience with SketchUp, Revit, ARCHICAD, Lumion, or other design software is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with Dropbox or project management software is a plus.
