Facilities Remodel Designer

We are seeking a Facilities Remodel Designer with knowledge of architectural design standards to join our Facilities Design team! The purpose of this position is to design remodel projects of small to medium complexity that requires cross-functional involvement from multiple departments within Facilities and Retail. Responsibilities include: • Managing the design of remodel projects of small to medium complexity including standard re-models, heavy paint, decors, and special projects • Collecting, managing, coordinating and defining the Remodel Scope Development Data for projects of small to medium complexity • Gathering all pertinent input, needs, and data from the various Publix stakeholders and organize that information into a project scope that clearly identifies project objectives • Designing and drafting design development plans for projects of small to medium complexity that are accurate and consistent with Publix design standards • Reviewing construction documents for accuracy prior to permitting • Serving as a single point of contact for internal and external business partners throughout construction and post-remodel to provide direction and to resolve design issues. Required Qualifications • Design related Associate’s degree or its equivalent and 2 years of work related experience in retail design field working on construction documents (or) • Two-year post high school certificate in a design related discipline or technical/trade school degree including two (2) years of work-related experience in a retail design working on construction documents (or) • Bachelor’s degree in related design field • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint) • Basic knowledge of REVIT • Knowledge of underlying infrastructure required to support equipment (e.g. electrical, plumbing (drains), etc. and ancillary equipment requirements • Knowledge of architectural design, building codes, and ADA requirements • Knowledge of architectural, engineering, and construction disciplines Preferred Qualifications • Bachelors’ degree in an Architecture or Engineering-related field • Three (3) years of experience in retail design related field Year End Bonus As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above. Additional Information Candidate must live in Polk County area.
