About this role

Interior Design magazine is looking for an exceptional Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC). The Assistant should have a passion for interior design and the media industry combined with knowledge of the publication. The perfect candidate will have experience working with a creative personality and be able to coordinate communication between multiple divisions with an efficient and articulate... style. Proficiency in social media platforms, Microsoft Office, InDesign, PhotoShop and Keynote programs is required. The role requires strategizing EIC’s schedule and time, workflow, travel booking, editorial support, project management and other duties as assigned. The role will be hybrid in New York City. The ideal candidate will: • Significant experience managing all aspects of a fast-paced, high-profile individual’s professional needs, including managing requests for contact and gatekeeping. • Able to anticipate EIC’s needs, wants, and desires and take proactive action accordingly, including reprioritizing new initiatives without missing deadlines. • Administrative work entails scheduling travel, monitoring emails, organizing meetings and events. • Attend EIC’s meetings to take notes and capture action items and areas of follow-up. • Oversee EIC’s social media platform, ie Instagram, including capturing events and posting and promoting her and the Interior Design brand. • Provide light office support for editorial team: purchasing, meeting coordination, light technical support, etc. • Able to manage simple to complex projects, ranging from coordinating speaking engagements, interview set up, to managing traffic workflow for marketing campaigns • For video interviews/programs; handle research and create talking points about interviewee, create a visual presentation about the program topic; following the taping, work with video team to provide first-round review of interviews and make editing suggestions • Creation of visual presentations for speaking engagements, sales/clients meetings, and awards programs • Able to attend in-person meetings and events, including after hours.
