About this role

The Interior Design Director is a leadership and mentor role, working to embody our brand and grow our firm's overall presence as a leader in the industry. The Director role requires a rare balance of creative leadership and business acumen. The Director of Interior Design must be equally comfortable analyzing financial performance, understanding P&L ownership, utilization, and margin, and running the business of design—while also leading thoughtful, nuanced conversations with designers around creative direction, design challenges, and execution. Success in this role depends on the ability to seamlessly shift between strategic, data-driven decision-making and hands-on creative mentorship. ● This role will oversee and align Interior Design studios across multiple geographic markets, ensuring consistency in design excellence, operational performance, team development, and client experience while adapting to the unique dynamics of each local market ● This role will set clear expectations, objectives, and KPIs for the team and regularly assess their performance against established metrics. ● Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of Designers. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to drive individual and team success. ● Maintain a one-to-one relationship with all Interior Design clients and serve as an escalation point of contact. ● In addition to the day-to-day management of the full design process and development of their team, this role will work cross-functionally with the sales team to support high-touch business development. Qualifications: ● 10+ years of luxury interior design experience, preferably with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing creatives. ● Must have a strong understanding of project management for ground-up construction projects, renovations, FF&E, and interior decorating projects. ● Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to discuss cost, scope, and expectations with potential clients. ● Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to drive process and efficiency ● Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. ● Technology experience with design software (preferably Studio Design) CAD, Canva, and Sketchup ● Experience with google workspace environment, including sheets, slides, and drive Benefits: Competitive base salary with significant variable earnings potential.
