Interior Design Studio Director for LA Studio Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 Location: Los Angeles, United States An Interior Design Studio Director is required to lead the Los Angeles studio of an established international luxury design practice. This is an opportunity for an accomplished designer with refined creative sensibility and strong leadership presence to guide a thriving team delivering luxury residential and hospitality projects. The successful candidate will bring more than a decade of experience delivering exceptional design, combining operational leadership with hands-on creative direction. They will inspire a multidisciplinary team, champion design excellence and shape the studio’s creative and operational trajectory within the wider global practice. Travel across the US will be required to support client meetings and project reviews. Role Overview The Studio Director will provide clear project management and design direction across multiple concurrent projects, steering each through all phases from concept to delivery. They will lead and mentor a team of interior designers and architects, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. Close partnership with senior leaders across London and New York, along with regular engagement with key business functions, will be central to the role. Key Responsibilities • Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets and scope are met • Manage team resourcing across the studio • Uphold rigorous quality control across all outputs • Contribute to proposals, pitches and new business opportunities • Define and uphold the studio’s design vision and quality benchmarks • Lead concept development, design refinement and client presentations • Integrate feedback from directors and clients with clarity and confidence • Maintain awareness of emerging trends, materials and technologies • Mentor, guide and develop the team • Lead weekly resource and management meetings • Champion the studio’s values, culture and collaborative spirit The Successful Candidate • Based in Los Angeles • Degree in interior design or architecture • 12+ years’ post-graduate experience managing and delivering high-end residential and hospitality projects • Experience managing the operations of a design studio • Proven leadership of teams and complex, multi-phase projects • Expertise in interior design project management and FF&E • Strong client communication and presentation skills • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Studio Spec/Studio Designer Benefits • Hybrid working • Performance-based bonus • Regular socials • Travel across the US Location Los Angeles, USA Due to a large volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
