We are establishing a nationwide network of 2 Hour Learning campuses—where students complete a full day’s academics in two focused hours, then dedicate the remainder to passion projects, skill development, and physical activity. Your responsibility is to make these environments memorable. As the execution lead for interior environments across our network, you will establish modular frameworks for layout, FF&E, play areas, and wayfinding. You will ensure consistent, high‑fidelity execution at each location. You will visit campuses, identify issues others overlook, develop upgrade scopes, and shepherd them from budget through installation.
This role differs from traditional design positions—you won’t be isolated from implementation. Handing off drawings and hoping for the best isn’t the model here. You’ll be present, troubleshooting installations, coaching vendors, and gathering insights that refine the next deployment. If you’re prepared to translate your design expertise into national‑scale impact, this is the opportunity.
What You Will Be Doing
• Build modular, self‑service design frameworks for layout, FF&E, finishes, and play environments that scale across varied campus settings
• Execute on‑site evaluations with standardized assessment tools to measure adherence to brand standards and identify high‑leverage opportunities
• Produce scoped, visually clear, budgeted recommendations for spatial enhancements that align with pedagogy, brand identity, and parent expectations
• Manage vendor execution on‑site, maintaining fidelity to standards, budgets, and schedules through direct quality assurance
• Complete the feedback cycle post‑installation by capturing lessons learned and revising playbooks to reflect real‑world outcomes
What You Won’t Be Doing
• Crafting bespoke, singular environments that cannot be systematized or reproduced
• Delivering specifications and disengaging. You own the outcome from evaluation through installation
• Waiting for ideal conditions. This role values proactive decision‑making, rapid iteration, and sound judgment under uncertainty
• Generating unconstrained design concepts. The work is tightly aligned with brand guidelines and operational realities
• Operating remotely. You will spend 50‑75% of your time in the field
Key Responsibilities
Guarantee that every campus provides a premium, brand‑consistent, and pedagogically effective physical experience through the creation and execution of scalable, modular design systems that maintain quality across locations.
Basic Requirements
• 5+ years of experience designing and executing multi‑location environments in education, retail, hospitality, or co‑working sectors
• Portfolio demonstrating real‑world projects that integrate aesthetic excellence with operational feasibility
• Proven track record creating scalable, standards‑driven design systems rather than one‑off custom spaces
• Hands‑on management of vendor execution, including installation quality control and schedule adherence
• Excellent documentation capabilities and communication skills with cross‑functional, non‑design team members
• Comfortable and able to travel regularly, 50‑75% of the time, throughout the U.S.
• Located in the U.S. and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
• Background designing premium environments with rigorous standards, such as boutique hospitality, luxury retail, or high‑end residential projects
• Proficiency with spatial documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Figma, or comparable platforms
• An intuitive ability to recognize what elevates a space to premium quality, even within constrained budgets
