Position Description: Clarity Homes is looking for an experienced and driven Design Manager to join our team. The Director of Design will be responsible for leading and managing the Design Team. This position is performance-driven with extensive experience required in the residential home building industry, as well as a degree in Interior Design or Architecture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage the Design Team • Guide the growth and aesthetic of the designers and draftsmen while helping manage their workload and acting as a mentor • Assign tasks, oversee work, and provide feedback to team • Review and approve spec & build-job selections • Drive successful results by creating annual goals & business plans that include metrics to be met the following year • Create annual operations and roadmaps, including team building • Oversee and monitor starts • Redline and review architects’ drawings submitted for project review • Keep up with all neighborhood requirements, CCRs, and standards • Visualize overall theme and design for communities. Adapt existing and design new home plans to achieve the needs and vision for each community • Be extremely familiar with our plan collection • Introduce and advocate for innovative design concepts, staying ahead of design trends • Maintain affordable, innovative, and organized options that inspire and excite our clients • Plan, schedule, and execute model home installs • Conduct client design meetings as needed & ensure a positive client experience • Website design and updates as well as some graphic design, and oversee marketing • Hiring, training, and retaining talented designers and draftsmen Required Qualifications/Skillset: • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture • 5+ years of experience in Residential Home Building • 3+ years of team leadership • Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite and desire to learn new technology • Comprehensive knowledge of residential architecture and the design industry • Superior ability to manage & guide the team, achieving results through collaboration • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, influence and inspire others • Proven ability to self-manage, problem-solve, prioritize, and demonstrate a high-level of professional maturity • Ability to sketch and think three-dimensionally • Working knowledge of budget preparation & how to do general take-offs • Excellent grasp and execution of Clarity Homes aesthetic • Advanced customer service skills to diplomatically communicate with the team, clients, builders, and vendors to resolve issues • Excellent attention to detail & budgeting skills • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, take initiative, learn and apply new information quickly Benefits: • Health insurance option • Dental insurance option • Vision insurance option • Vacation & Sick paid time off • 401k option Job Type: Full-time Monday-Friday Application Instructions: Send resume & sample of work to info@clarityhomes.com
