OverviewSummary
The Interior Construction Designer is responsible for designing and implementing demountable wall partition solutions from multiple manufacturers. This role supports projects from initial estimating and schematic design through specification and ordering of architectural wall systems, all tailored to client requirements.

The Designer partners with the Sales team by providing design services that primarily feature DIRTT architectural wall products, as well as other product lines supported by COR. Additional responsibilities include coordinating electrical components, C.O.M. materials, custom hardware, and custom glass orders. The Designer also serves as a technical resource, making design decisions, answering product-related questions, and ensuring interior construction requirements are accurately defined and executed. This position is responsible for translating client specifications into prefabricated wall solutions, producing detailed shop drawings, and delivering projects with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Areas Of ResponsibilityAbility to design and implement new projects
Ability to implement a well-designed plan using ICE and AutoCAD software
Communicate project expectations to all COR Team members
Capable of working independently, prioritizing workload, determining, and adhering to project timeframes and deadlines determined by the Interior Construction Team
Provide planning services which include: Programming (information gathering and documentation); Field measurements; Design development (block plans and detailed CAD plans), 2D and 3D views using ICE Software and AutoCAD
Determine project requirements with Sales, Project Management, clients, and A&D firms
Attend weekly Interior Construction Team meetings
Attend client meetings with Sales and/or Project Manager
Produce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirements
Communicate issues to the client, Sales, and Project Manager
Assist Sales in presentations and the selling effort
Perform self-checks and double-checks
Follow the Creative Office Resources Design Process
Assist in training new design employees as requested
Other duties as required

Required Education, Skills, And ExperienceDegree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from CIDA accredited school
1-3 years post-degree professional design experience
Trained in AutoCAD
Experience reading architectural plans and schedules
Aptitude for detail
Ability and initiative to seek guidance and advice to advance training skills on product, design process, and technology.
Willingness to learn and take direction with a positive, professional attitude, and implement new product initiatives
Produce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirements
Communicate issues to the client, sales, and project manager
Ability to learn other software programs quickly
Prepared to work cross-departmentally
Professionalism in manner, attire, and written/verbal communication to interact effectively with a wide range of people both within and outside of the company
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to read, write, interpret, and communicate fluently in English
Writing skills must be sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully
Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures
Use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring efficiency of projects from start to finish
Physical DemandsSedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Work EnvironmentWork performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices
