About this role

About the position Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Responsibilities • Greet store customers in a helpful manner and supports store design walk-in needs • Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store • Providing tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects. • Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions • Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others. • Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required • Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals • Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees • Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market • Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications i.e.; Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements • Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience • Proficient in basic mathematical skills • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite • Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position Nice-to-haves • Degree in Design is a plus • Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Benefits • Bonus opportunities & career advancement opportunities at every level • Programs that help you reach your financial goals: 401k with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and Referral Bonus Program • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and other Insurance Plans (subject to eligibility criteria) • Work-life balance, including: Paid vacation and sick time for eligible associates • Paid holidays plus a personal holiday • Paid Volunteer Time Off that starts on Day 1
