Skills • Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years of interior design experience in lieu of education • 3-5 years of leadership or management experience • Knowledge of hard surface flooring preferred • Proficiency in basic mathematical skills • Self-motivation and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite Responsibilities • Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers • Hire and develop a motivated design team • Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs • Maintain master store design appointment calendar • Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for projects • Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions • Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy and timely communication • Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation • Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices • Maintain Design Center and company visual standards • Engage in current and emerging design trends • Utilize design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary tools • Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID and NKBA • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership or management experience • Proven ability to build and lead a design team • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Basic math proficiency for design calculations • Strong design aesthetic and creativity Education Requirements • BA or AA in Interior Design or equivalent experience Education Requirements Credential Category • Design qualifications (Interior Design) Experience Requirements • 6 years of interior design experience in lieu of design education • 12 months of experience in a Sr. designer position, ADM role, or higher for internal candidates Why work in Albany, NY Albany, NY offers a rich history, vibrant culture, and a growing economy, making it an attractive place to live and work.
