Design Specialist

Overview We invite you to apply for the role of Design Specialist at Floor & Decor. The Design Specialist is your gateway into the world of design, tasked with actively engaging customers on the sales floor to assist them with their design projects. You will conduct design appointments to understand customers' needs and guide them in selecting tile, wood, stone, and accessory products in various colors, textures, and patterns. You will collaborate with store leaders to drive sales goals and enhance our design services brand. Pay Range $17.25 - $21.00 Minimum Eligibility Requirements • 1+ years of retail or customer service experience • High school diploma or GED • Proficient in basic mathematical skills • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite • Internal candidates must have a minimum of 6 months with Floor & Decor Essential Functions • Greet customers with a welcoming approach and support their design needs • Schedule design appointments to develop a strong clientele through networking and referrals, plus leads generated in-store • Advise homeowners, interior designers, and builders on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for both residential and commercial projects • Create and sell complete design solutions that are functional and aesthetically pleasing • Manage multiple customer projects throughout various phases, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and ongoing communication • Work collaboratively with store leadership and team members to oversee projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales objectives • Support company initiatives enthusiastically by modeling and mentoring best practices • Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, the Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject • Carry out additional duties as assigned Working Conditions • Limited travel may be required by car • Possible exposure to a warehouse setting with moving vehicles; noise levels typically moderate to loud Physical/Sensory Requirements This role requires a Medium Work Ability, necessitating the exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, with constant movement of objects of negligible to 10 pounds. The position involves frequent use of hands and fingers, occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
