About the Role \ We are seeking a skilled Designer to join our team. This is a key position that involves delivering high-quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment. \ The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering or architectural fields, with a minimum of 15 years of experience working as a Designer or 19 years of experience working in a similar role at another company. \ Key responsibilities include: \ • \ • Interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating medium assignments, ensuring budget adherence, quality control and inter-discipline coordination.\ • Making decisions independently on design problems, practices and methods, but may receive input on unusual or complex problems from the department manager or project engineer/architect for proposed design solutions.\ • Producing finished plans and specifications, and final acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality and field construction results.\ • Completing work on major engineering/architectural projects or total design work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.\ • Serving as a job captain on single discipline projects and may serve as a job captain on multi-discipline projects.\ • Preparing or reviewing construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.\ • Writing scope of work for design based on preliminary review and meetings with the customer.\ • Performing project management functions, assigning and reviewing work of project design team, checking progress of work and alerting project manager to changes of scope or additional services.\ • Devising new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicating them to the team.\ • Representing the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.\ • Preparing total design and construction cost estimates.\ • Travel required; valid driver's license necessary.
