As a Design Manager, you’ll co-lead commercial projects alongside a Project Manager, guiding them from concept to completion. You’ll drive the design process, lead production efforts, and ensure every detail reflects client goals while staying code-compliant, buildable, and innovative. You’ll collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to shape projects that stand out, while mentoring teammates and maintaining Kinetic’s reputation for excellence. This role is perfect for someone who brings equal parts creativity, technical expertise, and leadership.
Who You Are

You’re both imaginative and pragmatic, always finding creative yet feasible solutions. You lead by example, mentor with patience, and communicate with clarity, ensuring your team feels supported and inspired.
What You’ll Do
• Partner with Project Managers to co-lead projects from concept through completion.
• Drive and delegate production efforts to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
• Develop and oversee drawing sets, models, details, and prototypical standards.
• Lead design charrettes, create exhibits and studies, and prepare schematic and DD-level presentations.
• Mentor and coach production staff, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Conduct site visits and field measurements, documenting existing conditions.
• Present design concepts to clients and translate feedback into actionable design solutions.
• Perform quality control reviews at each project stage before handoff.
• Research materials, codes, systems, and precedents to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and design partners for integrated outcomes.
• Stay current on design trends, software, and industry best practices through professional development.
Tools You’ll Use
Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and BIM Collaborate.
What You’ll Bring
• A degree from a NAAB-accredited architecture program or an accredited interior design program.
• 6–8+ years of professional experience, including advanced production and design skills.
• Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and rendering software.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for design presentations.
• Strong technical knowledge of building design, codes, materials, and construction methods.
• Ability to independently execute complex drawing sets and design tasks.
• Experience mentoring and leading design staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence, professionalism, and accountability in team leadership.
