Design Engineer - Interiors

About the position The Design Engineer - Interiors position at PDS Tech Inc. involves preparing documentation for aircraft interior modifications, coordinating with suppliers and regulatory agencies, and supporting the design and certification of new components. The role requires collaboration within a team environment and offers opportunities to engage in troubleshooting and resolution of design issues. Responsibilities • Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports. , • Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications. , • Research specification for component selection and coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met. , • Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests. , • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required. , • Work in a team environment. Requirements • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with two (2) years relevant experience, or a minimum of eight (8) years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation. , • Proficient in creating mechanical drawings using AutoCad or CATIA (preferred). , • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA). , • Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access). , • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. , • Organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations.
