Design Director

Ai Corporate Interiors is a full-service commercial furniture dealer serving Alabama and Middle Tennessee. Job description: • Oversee/direct design work performed by in-house and contract designers. • Develop/implement training plans, as well as hands-on training, with designers. This includes both product training and software training. • Coach/oversee all work performed by designers, and assist the design team with challenging tasks or any unusual issues that may arise affecting design. • General management of the overall design pipeline/team workflow to anticipate and delegate needs and balance workloads. • Oversee the spec check process and ensure that clean orders are submitted to order entry. • Continual refinement of our design process to ensure it is working as efficiently as possible, and we are producing the highest quality of work. • Review large bids/ helping execute large bids as-needed. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design • Management/ team leadership experience • Experience in commercial furniture • Experience working with Teknion • CAD, CAP 20/20, CET, and Microsoft Office skills • Ability to travel between our Birmingham and Nashville offices (weekly to bi-monthly) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Parental leave • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • CET: 3 years (Required) • AutoCAD: 3 years (Required) • CAP 20/20: 1 year (Required) • Furniture Industry: 2 years (Preferred) • Teknion: 2 years (Preferred) • Management: 3 years (Preferred) License/Certification: • NCIDQ Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
