Role Overview Design Consultant at Floor & Decor is the entry point into design, responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conducting design appointments to determine design needs in tiles, wood, stone, and accessory products, and partnering with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand. Pay Range $17.25 - $21.00 per hour Minimum Eligibility Requirements 1+ years of retail/customer service experience High school diploma or GED Proficient basic mathematical skills Self‑motivated and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office suite) Internal candidates must have worked at Floor & Decor for minimum 6 months Essential Functions Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk‑in needs Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking and referrals Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers and builders for residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness and follow‑up, communicating consistently to customers and others Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees Understand and utilize design applications (Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject) Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Limited travel by car may be required Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level typically moderate to noisy Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium work – ability to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally and 10–25 pounds of force frequently; may stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequently use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
