About the position The Design Consultant at Haverty Furniture Companies, Inc. plays a crucial role in assisting Sales Consultants by providing design services to customers. This position involves visiting clients' homes to ensure proper furniture placement and color coordination, recommending additional furniture and accessories, and maintaining sales metrics as required by management. The role may also include sales training and requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate customer schedules. Responsibilities • Assist Sales Consultant in closing transactions by providing design services to customers. , • Visit clients' homes to ensure proper furniture placement and color coordination. , • Recommend additional furniture and accessories for room design as needed. , • Maintain consistent sales levels and meet key metrics as required by management. , • Schedule or attend qualified home visits with clients. , • Coordinate with decision-makers during home visits and final presentations. , • Build Presentation Boards with color and furniture placement samples. , • Draw floor plans using Havertys.com 'RoomPlanner' software. , • Provide recaps to Sales Consultant and Management after home visits. , • Assist in creating special-order SKUs and sales reserves. , • Help create floor plans for in-store clients to visualize purchases. , • Provide constructive feedback to customers to help close sales. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field, or 2 to 4 years of related experience. , • ASID certification preferred. , • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. , • Reliable transportation and minimum state-required car insurance. , • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Room Planner software. Nice-to-haves • Experience in sales training on the sales floor. , • Knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products. Benefits • Competitive salary range of $53.1K - $67.2K per year.
