Design Assistant – Residential Construction

Our Design Team plays a key role in each project—from supporting clients during selections to ensuring every finish, detail, and design element aligns with the home's vision. We are growing fast and seeking someone who is excited to grow with us. What You'll Do As our Design Assistant, you will work closely with the Interior Designer and cross-company teams to help manage and support the interior selections, design development, and construction process: Project & Design Support • Assist Designers throughout the new construction process—from pre-construction planning to final walkthroughs. • Support client meetings by organizing selections, preparing presentations, and documenting design decisions. • Help develop personalized design concepts that optimize layout, lighting, materials, and overall aesthetic. • Source, select, and coordinate materials and finishes based on the project's design vision and quality standards. • Ensure selections comply with building codes and project requirements. Coordination & Execution • Work with Project Managers, estimators, subcontractors, and vendors to support timely, accurate design execution. • Review house plans during development and provide helpful insight to refine design and functionality. • Assist with developing and updating spec home plans. • Modify or adjust construction work schedules to support design-related milestones. Other Responsibilities • Conduct jobsite visits to measure, verify conditions, and support on-site decisions. • Pick up samples, deliver materials to vendors, and coordinate logistics. • Assist with company social media when design-related content is needed. • Provide general support to the Interior Design Team as needed. What We're Looking For • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork. • Familiarity with interior design, residential construction, and material/finish application. • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Buildertrend. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. • Strong organization, attention to detail, and desire to grow in the design field.
