Design Assistant

Charles H Chewning Interiors is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Design Assistant. This is not an internship, but a permanent part-time position, with the potential to grow to a full-time position. The successful candidate will be a recent graduate in interior design or associated field, located in Savannah, Georgia. The job requires the candidate have their own reliable transportation, and be initially available to work two to three full days per week (M-F - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Assist the Principal in various aspects of design management: • Memo library management • Sourcing • Interacting with clients • Training and managing interns Assist Director of Operations in various aspects of design management: • In addition to other software resources and tools, accurately entering data in Studio Designer, managing the quoting, approval, and ordering process (RFQ, CFA, Order, Invoicing) • Project management • Developing and maintaining relationships with key partners including suppliers, vendors and fabricators Assist with our associated lifestyle store, Courtyard Lifestyle, working collaboratively with a team to: • Plan seasonal store re-sets • Contribute to social media strategies • Serve customers Working as part of the CHCid and Courtyard team: • Administrative or office maintenance tasks as required • Run errands as needed • Develop handbooks or training materials for specific tasks
