Design Assistant - Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate with good interpersonal skills for the position of Design Assistant.
Objective:
A Design Assistant is a professional, detail oriented and creative individual to support the Interior Designer in all phases of residential projects. The Design Assistant must love design and thrive on organization , hands on experience and enjoys a fast paced environment.
Design Assistant Responsibilities:
• Outline client design objectives.
• Conceptualize and sketch design plans by interpreting and translating customer’s needs.
• Determine cost of completion and project requirements in the budgeting phase.
• Set a timeline for the completion of an interior design project.
• Source materials and products included in plans.
• Create digi boards to sample your design vision.
• Utilize computer applications in the design process.
• Interpret and translate client’s needs into rough plans.
• Work with accounting to ensure purchase orders and invoices are received and processed.
• Research and decide on materials and products sourcing.
• Work closely with sales, architectural designer, contractors and subcontractors
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices.
• Inspect design after completion to determine whether client goals have been met.
Designer Assistant Requirements:
• Portfolio of previous design work.
• Experience with computational design.
• Highly creative, imaginative and artistic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven work experience in decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions)
• Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator and/or other design programs.
• Creative talent, imagination and eye for design

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
