Design Assistant

Job Title: Assistant Designer Location: Germantown, Tn. Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Design Manager / Project Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative person to join our residential remodeling team. This person will work with clients on Selections and assist with Project Designs and Development. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical drawing and client-facing design coordination. The ideal candidate will guide clients through the selection process for finishes and fixtures, while assisting in preparing interior construction drawings for remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, and full-home renovations. Key Responsibilities: · Assist clients in selecting finishes, fixtures, materials, and design features that align with their style and budget · Prepare, revise, and maintain construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, and layouts using Chief Architect Design software. · Coordinate product selections with suppliers and vendors, ensuring availability, lead times, and specification accuracy · Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and field staff to ensure selections are properly integrated into project timelines · Maintain organized records of selections and plan changes for projects · Conduct site visits to gather measurements and verify existing conditions as needed Qualifications: · Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Chief Architect, or similar) · 1-2 years of drafting experience, preferably in residential interior remodeling · Strong organizational skills with attention to detail · Excellent communication and customer service abilities · Knowledge of common residential building materials and trends · Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
