Creative Designer

Base Pay This position offers a starting base pay of $15.50 per hour, with the potential for higher pay based on your experience. Purpose: As a Creative Designer at Floor & Decor, you will provide exceptional design services from start to finish, helping customers achieve their vision while forming lasting relationships that encourage brand loyalty. You will meet with customers to understand their project needs, educate them on the materials and designs available, and create personalized design concepts that reflect their style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements At least one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience. A degree in Design is preferred. Familiarity with hard surface flooring is a plus. Strong mathematical skills. Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite. Existing company employees must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position. Essential Functions Welcome customers in the store and assist with their design needs. Schedule design consultations for current and prospective customers while building relationships through networking, referrals, and in-store leads. Provide expert advice on tiles, wood, stone, and accessories for both residential and commercial projects. Create comprehensive and visually appealing design solutions. Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication throughout each phase. Collaborate with store leadership and employees to facilitate projects from inquiry to installation, meeting sales targets and goals. Support all company initiatives and goals by exemplifying best practices. Stay informed on current and emerging design trends in the market. Utilize various design applications effectively, such as Salesforce and proprietary scheduling tools. Perform other assigned duties as needed. Working Conditions Limited travel may be required. This job involves frequent exposure to a warehouse setting and moving vehicles, with a noise level ranging from moderate to noisy. Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium work capacity - the ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to lift or move objects. The role requires the frequent use of hands and fingers, and occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
