Commerical Interior Design Manager

In this role, you will oversee the entire design lifecycle, including space planning, product configuration, and technical documentation, while collaborating across sales, operations, and manufacturing departments. Role Overview The Design Manager is responsible for guiding a team of designers in the production of space plans, layout concepts, renderings, and technical specifications. You will be tasked with managing project assignments, ensuring design integrity, and maintaining rigorous standards to facilitate the timely delivery of high-quality design packages for our sales and installation teams. Core Responsibilities Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to our design staff. Oversee project distribution and manage the team's overall workflow and priorities. Direct the creation of innovative product configurations, space plans, and layout concepts. Verify the precision of renderings, technical documentation, and project specifications. Help ensure all design outputs align with client needs, brand standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate design processes to guarantee project accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Partner with manufacturing, operations, and sales teams to enhance project proposals and delivery. Authorize final technical design packages and visual renderings. Uphold and manage internal design libraries, templates, and established standards. Drive operational excellence by implementing improvements to design quality and efficiency. Maintain expertise in current industry trends, best practices, and relevant building codes. Foster a culture of cost-effective design to help deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. Required Qualifications Extensive background in furniture systems or commercial interior design. Proven expertise in product configuration and space planning. Prior experience in a supervisory role managing design technicians or designers. Strong capabilities in project management and task prioritization. Ability to thrive and meet multiple deadlines within a fast-paced setting. Experience working cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and sales. Proficiency in drafting and design software such as Revit, CAD, CET, or similar tools. Comprehensive understanding of workplace design best practices, safety standards, and building codes. Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving talents. Background in workspace planning, office furniture, or manufacturing is highly preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related discipline is preferred. An equivalent mix of professional experience and education will be taken into consideration.
