Who are we?
ID+A is a Specialty Contractor whose business is the planning, design, and creation of our customer's corporate, health and learning spaces. We possess in-house expertise in design, prefab construction, furniture, fixtures & equipment, and technical services. Our customers come to us because they want one point of contact for the design and execution of their interior projects throughout Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Tennessee. ID+A is the certified MillerKnoll dealership in Kentucky and a DIRTT partner.
Education, Experience + Attributes
• Minimum four years’ job experience in contract furniture design.
• Bachelor’s degree in interior design/architecture.
• NCIDQ Certification (Preferred).
• Proficient in CAD, CAP, and CET.
• Competent understanding of Interior Design Process.
• Proficient in Microsoft including One Drive, Teams, and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities
• Primary designer for a large education account, including transactional business, medium/large sized design projects, and full-scale capital projects.
• Participant in the streamlining of that account to create efficiencies for ID+A.
• Primary designer for the Nashville Account Executive team.
• Designer for large systems-based projects and/or large bids, not limited to the Nashville office.
• Design resource for needs in Tennessee and Western Kentucky, such as site visits and in-person meetings.
• Mentor to Level 1 and Level 2 designers, specifically in the Nashville office.
Essential Duties
• Communicate effectively with Account Executives to accomplish customer goals, including pre-sale qualifiers like budgeting, estimator tools, and Scout, etc.
• Present to and meet with clients with or without Account Executive to move projects through design process.
• Produce deliverables for each stage of design, not limited to: proposals, revisions, sign-off documents, and installation drawings.
• Participate in and perform Design Audits.
• Participate in virtual and in-person training and learning opportunities.
• Provide constant feedback to Leadership that may improve processes, training, mentorship, etc.
• Space plan and provide holistic design solutions to customers, not limited to furniture solutions.
• Adhere to ID+A internal processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, using problem-solving skills when needed.
• Participate in EOS program, including (4) in-person quarterly meetings held in Louisville, KY.
• Role includes the potential for additional travel as required for projects.

Systems and/or New Business Development
A Systems and/or New Business Development Specialist at ID+A would be expected to be the expert in most MillerKnoll systems furniture solutions. He/she would be the primary designer for most large systems projects and/or new business needs (i.e. bid and proposal responses). He/she would be expected to mentor other designers through complex systems projects or problems, perform complex design audits, and act as the systems furniture expert for ID+A.
Level 4 Designer
The intention of a Level 4 Designers is to be an expert in contract furniture design, ID+A processes, and providing fully integrated Furniture and Interior Design and Construction solutions to clients. A Level 4 Designer is expected to design and specify a full range of solutions to our customers, including products like shades, sound masking, acoustical products, modular walls, and Interior Design services. Special product learning and program training provided as required.
Lead FF&E Designer
The Lead FF&E Designer is responsible for the professional development of the furniture design team, in coordination with the Design Director. He/she will participate in process improvement (within the FF&E department and with all other departments at ID+A). He/she will create and implement training and learning opportunities for the FF&E team. He/she will oversee and maintain FF&E design deliverable standards.
