About this role
We’re looking to add a Cabinet Vision expert, designer, and project manager to
our custom woodworking shop, NEWwoodworks, based in the Finger Lakes region of
New York. Someone who can talk with clients, lead our design/production
technology interface, and be a bridge to our craftsmen. management duties.
Responsibilities: This position’s main duties are to speak with clients about
their vision, design & detail shop/production drawings in Cabinet Vision along
with project. · Designs & details in Cabinet Vision the ideas of clients and
coworkers (this position will work alongside our in-house architectural
department for pieces as needed). · Translates these plans to craftsmen. ·
Speaks with clients/coworkers to understand vision/need. · Help manage
timelines and expectations with clients/coworkers. Skills: · 5+ years
experience in the role of project management or design with a high- end
woodworking group. · A firm grasp of computer driven design technology. We’d
love it if you’re a “Cabinet Vision Jockey”. · Integration with our CNC. We’re
looking for someone to help us get to the next level of screen to machine. ·
Excellent math and computer skills. · Hands-on woodworking experience. You
don’t have to be a master, but you’ll have to translate ideas to implementable
pieces, so you need to know how wood works. · Ability to work with a cross-
section of people: clients, coworkers, craftsmen. · Good communication skills.
You’ll be a primary point of contact so you must be articulate, kind, and
clear. · Excellent time management and attention to detail. You’re the driver
of timelines and keeping expectations. Other thoughts: · Experience with
reclaimed wood or fine woodworking within timber frames. · Interior Design,
Industrial Design, or similar schooling. · The ability to tell a good joke,
enjoy a good meal, and laugh with your coworkers. Pay will align with
